I am Filipino and was born in the Philippines, grew up in Japan for the most part, moved here after HS, and I've been here ever since! I live with my partner who is trans and we've been together for almost 14 years now (sheesh we're old lol). We live with our two crazy pups and we are building our small business together on top of our regular jobs. I also work as a realtor for both residential and commercial. I chose to do commercial RE, because as a small business owner, I've found there's an underserved small business owners sector of real estate who are looking to open their brick and mortar shops and businesses. So I've loved being able to help other small businesses in that way.
Our small business is a candle/resin business. We sell anything from specialty wood bowl candles to resin gift items like wine stoppers, coasters, plant propagation, dominoes, keychains (and adding more!). We are trying to be in a few shops in San Diego (we were in one small boutique that unfortunately closed), and we also do vendor markets. We regularly do markets on the 1st and 3rd of every month and more when there are special events that we can get into. Eventually, we'd love to organize vendor events to highlight different local vendors and small businesses as well. I love the idea of building a community of small businesses that support and promote each other. We want to grow our business, and a big part of that is also making sure we support other small businesses. We know how hard it is to be a small business owner, so we appreciate any business that has the same mission of lifting up other small business owners as well!
